New external iGuzzini lighting fittings
Introduction
Company iGuzzini introduced a new line of innovations in the realm of internal and external lighting fittings. The presentation took place in Milan at the INTEL fair. As to outdoor lighting fittings, next to innovation and extension of the present series, three new broad series of lighting fittings including Ledplus, iWay and iRoad were presented. iGuzzini lighting fittings have three characteristic features that can be expressed in mottos: coherence, design, innovation. As it is customary for iGuzzini, the series are extensive, coherent and they contain lighting fittings with various types of optics with several types of gears of different inputs. Due to this, use of these lighting fittings is broad and it covers a number of different situations and applications. The second important sign of iGuzzini lighting fittings is the stress on design of the products. The author of all the mentioned lighting fittings is the renowned French architect Jean Michel Wilmotte who cooperates with a number of significant producers of lighting fittings. The third important feature is the introducing of new technological innovations. As to the presented lighting fittings, usage of the latest types of lighting gears, new optical systems and use of colour and dynamic lighting can be included among the innovations.

LEDPLUS
design: J.M. Wilmotte

Series of countersink lighting fittings Ledplus reveal new possibilities for usage of countersink lighting fittings. It is based on the usage of new design with a frame with overlap. All-glass lighting fittings without overlap are perfectly integrated in the surface and do not create minor obstacles on the surface of communications for pedestrians and physically disabled people. Lighting fittings with overlap are meant mainly to be inbuilt in walls. They are suitable for marking of communications and communication corridors in office spaces, conference rooms, offices, airports, cinemas, theatres and hotels. Lighting fittings are manufactured in circular and square forms (2 sizes) or in linear design (3 sizes).
Lighting fittings consist of a body made of mechanically resistant thermo-plastic, stainless steel frame, exterior hardened glass (10mm) and interior hardened glass (3mm). The interior glass can be produced in a pellucid or ground, dim, form. Regarding lighting fittings with pellucid glass, individual diodes are furnished with a dimmer made of thermo-plastic that serves against glare. Lighting fittings are to be connected by means of cable transit PG11 and they are delivered with a 300mm cable included. Feeding cables have a special transferring link that prevents dampness from penetrating between the outer protective coat and the cable itself. The lighting fittings, including assembly cover, are resistant to mechanical weight ranging up to 1000 kg or 500 kg depending on the type of assembly cover. Lighting fittings designed for lighting of vertical walls are furnished with special plastic lens that create radiating characteristic with an angle of half luminance 10°. Diodes with circular or square form can be turned 355° along vertical axis and bent to the vertical axis o ±10°. With linear form the individual diodes can be bent within the range o±7°. Ledplus lighting fittings can be directed by means of two types of directing systems. Lighting fittings in monochromatic form can be connected with control system Effect Equalizer that enables to create a line of dynamic lighting effects: blinking, alternating and wave. Another control system Colour Equalizer is made for lighting fittings furnished with RGB and it enables not only to control the lighting but also to create changeable colour lighting and various lighting scenes. The surface temperature of lighting fittings is lower than 40°. Installation boxes IP67 for connecting of lighting fittings and furnishing of energy gears, colour filters, pictograms, energy gears and assembly covers are delivered as accessories.

iWAY
design: J.M. Wilmotte

The main function of the new series of column lighting fittings iWay is the orientation function. These lighting fittings are set to mark the way for pedestrians, warning about obstacles, determining of communication borders. The main aim of these lighting fittings is to light the largest part of the required area possible, to restrict possible glare and disturbing light and to create the required atmosphere of the lighted space.
Lighting fittings iWay are produced in circular or square cross-section in two heights – 620 and 1100 mm with various types of optical systems. From the point of view of form, the main innovation is a very clean form that is given mainly by the fact that no fixing screws are visible. Construction of lighting fitting was designed with regard to high mechanical resistance both in the part of transparent cover and in the junction of the lighting fitting and the floor. Lighting fittings are to be fastened by means of anchoring board with screws that is to be placed into a cement base. iWay system has three different types of optical systems: reflector, multi-plate, diffusing. The patented reflector optical system stops the direct illumination from the light gear and it can be furnished with special dimmer that enable to define various widths of the angle of radiation.
Lighting fittings can be furnished with metal-halide lamps 20, 35 and 70 W, compact fluorescent tubes 13, 18, 26, 32 and 42 W or radiating diodes (LED). The main innovation in the area of light gears is the usage of metal-halide lamps 20 W with a ceramic burner in a miniature form – Mini Master Colour (Philips). The second important innovation consists in the usage of radiating diodes (LED) 4x1 W in white and colour design. Pencil lighting fittings with linear vertical lighting cross-section with micro-perforated diffusing cover with one-sided or two-sided radiation complete the iWay series.

iROAD
design: J.M. Wilmotte

iRoad lighting fittings are designed for the lighting of road communications, pedestrian zones, squares, parks and residential quarters. Usage of these lighting fittings is characterized by even lighting, reduction of possible illumination, zero shares on the light flow towards upper half-space and expressive, clean design. Lighting fittings iRoad try to contribute, with their design and technical parameters, to the change of perception of public lighting from a purely functional matter to interpretation of environment where it is installed. In other words, they are here to inform about space in an adequate way, to create the design of surrounding environment and to evoke suitable atmosphere.
Lighting fittings iRoad are manufactured with two types of optical systems: road and asymmetrical optics. Road optical system is designed in such a way that requirements of norms and recommendations dealing with light pollution were met. At the same time it has to be possible to use the highest spacing of lighting fittings possible while respecting the required qualitative and quantitative light technical parameters. In this way, the recessed ceiling effect of the lighting set is diminished and expenses on functioning and maintenance are reduced. Asymmetrical optical system has the maximum luminance in the angle of 45°. Construction of optical system enables to limit the undesirable glare and at the same time to restrict the disturbing light that falls on the facades of buildings and into their interiors when lighting fittings are being installed on the facades of buildings or in the surrounding area.
Lighting fittings are produced for high-pressure lamps ranging from 70 – 250 W inputs. A significant innovation step is the usage of new metal-halide lamps Cosmolight by Philips. It is a completely new type of metal-halide lamps with input 140 W, measured input 120lm/W, rendering colour index and temperature of chromatics 2800 K. The lamps also have a new type of cap that ensures a precise position of the light gear in the optical system. The second innovation in the realm of light gears consists in the usage of 250 W metal-halide lamps with a ceramic burner and G12 cap. Compared with the currently used outdoor lighting fittings, it is possible to create, thanks to the parameters of this metal-halide lamp, a relatively small optical system furnished with a very efficient light gear (23klm). The optical system is protected with a hardened covering glass fastened in an aluminium frame. The glass has a special print that serves for the heightening of eye comfort.
Lighting fittings are delivered with original columns with mounting poles in heights 6, 8 and 10 m (height including a mounting pole). Columns, produced in countersink and flanged design, meet the requirements of European norm ČSN EN 40 – 5. Lighting fittings can be fastened on the top of pole, on the middle part of pole or on the facades of buildings.
